economy, trade, and topics aimed at West African professionals across the
diaspora, as well as those interested in the region. For an idea of the kinds of
stories we cover, take a look at our previous issues. Recently, reports have
covered such diverse topics as the Nigerian election, the burgeoning African
Continental Free Trade Agreement, the NBA's foray into Africa, and
entertainment, with articles on the latest news about adaptations of Inua
Ellam’s plays and the growth of the National Basketball Association in Africa.
We are especially looking to hear about exclusive and engaging content.
We will already have seen the "big headlines", so it is the overlooked stories
about events, investments, people and businesses likely to impact and shape
West Africa and its diaspora, whether at a local, national or regional level,
which will be of interest to us. Those stories which do not make it to the
mainstream western media, which cover under-reported countries and groups,
or which offer a new angle on the headlines from a fresh perspective, are perfect.
A pitch should be suitable for a 300-600-word article. Pitches should be one to
two paragraphs long. Please include details about your idea for an article, your
sources (if applicable), its significance to our audience of professionals working
in the diaspora, and any added angle or insight you believe makes this a story
we need to hear about.
